A Working Girl's Purchases

Forgetfulness

Gah last Wednesday I bought 2 boxes from Ikea and forgot to write it down… ($8.38 CAD)

Oh apparently I DID write it down. Oops… lol

Well, to amend I will then list the Superstore purchase I made. I went for groceries today and my mom gave me Superbucks so…. yea. ($4.74 CAD)

Today’s lunch, alone, “Corn Chowder” from the work cafeteria - wherein there is more chicken than corn. Strange… ($3.10 CAD)

The new McDonald’s breakfast bagel… bacon and egg edition :P They’re having a 50% off all breakfast bagels and bagel sandwiches, so I’m gonna try em all (probably). This one tasted not bad actually :O ($1.49 CAD + tax = $1.56 CAD)

Sunday randoms. Went to the “new” Boston Pizza at Kingsway Garden Mall to see how it differs… let’s just say I’ve had better food and service in many other places -_-

Sister L is giving her best impression of a certain type of individual who does that sort of thing. Let’s be civil and not name names :P She had a seven cheese ravioli while I had some fettuccine thing. Both were not that great tasting. Presentation wise, they did well. ($38.35 CAD)

And the weekend.

Possibly part one, depending on if I buy anything tomorrow…

Went to Bulk Barn with D. Chau this afternoon, as he was put in charge of baking 200 mini cupcakes for his aunt’s retirement party… well all I can say is, I don’t think that went well :P I helped him mix up his lemon batch, but I hope he was able to bake it in time o.0 His younger brother E. Chau is really quite stubborn too… lol not sure how they’ll get even 100 made… ANYWAYS. I ended up buying gummy bears and some sour peach things, in addition to D. Chau’s icing sugar. This did not come close to using up the $5 giftcard :( Sigh. Fail. (Some amount. I think I have 41 cents left on the card, so I’ll say I spent $4.59 CAD)

This evening, I searched high and low in two stores on the south side with J. Huang for kites. Did you know Walmart sucks for this?! They had ONE type of kite on sale, and it was freakin $12.93. It was also much smaller than the ones (3! I picked up 3!) I ended up getting, after wandering Superstore for a crazy long time. Ugh. I also picked up pudding (99 cents for a 4 pack lunch thing), chocolate covered and filled croissants, and a book for J. Huang because he was whining for one. He’s such a kid -_- We then headed over to D. Ngo’s to pork out like piggies. Sadly the sun was down. I intend to try and fly kites tomorrow. The adventure continues… ($37.43 CAD)

Pseudo-Birthday girl D. Ngo and the presents I got her. Sigh this seems so uncool to be mentioning how much it cost :( But my blog is a blog describing my purchases, and D. Ngo says she already knows the cost -_- so here it is. Naked 2 Palette and a set with primer potion and Stardust. ($79.00 CAD + tax = $82.95 CAD)

Friday Night Pseudo Birthday for D. Ngo (because J. Huang’s away on her actual birthday… bad J. Huang!)

Meguro Ramen - We frequent this place often it seems :P We also noticed they changed their noodle, AGAIN. Seriously. Wow -_- Hmmm the broth was nice this time :D We were adventurous and ordered some spicy tuna thing (raw) and an octopus thing with wasabi (also raw, which we were not expecting). Personally, I prefer the octopus thing more. Yes, I dared to taste it. Also, yes, I got sick feeling after. Ramen wise, D. Ngo ordered the Seafood one, J. Huang ordered the Taiwan noodle (and complained that there was fatty beef - dude, that dish is SUPPOSED TO have fatty beef), and I got the tan-tan peanut one. Used my Teambuy to pay for $30 of this, and J. Huang covered $20. ($15.00 CAD was used to buy the Teambuy voucher)

This was Thursday’s lunch. Evidently, I’m posting this incredibly late - my only excuse is that I was not feeling so great on Thursday (went home and promptly fell unconscious until 9pm ish, which then led to insomnia that night) and was busy on Friday and Saturday. Yes, it’s way past my bedtime. This was okay tasting. I don’t recommend it. Only get the macaroni and cheese when it also has bacon! ($6.08 CAD)

Yesterday’s purchase. Hospital food lunch. ($7.50 CAD + tax = $7.88 CAD)

I also went to Ikea today with the intention to buy that drying rack for clothing… they were sold out :( So I ended up buying 2 boxes (one for J. Huang and one for myself). Sigh. ($8.38 CAD)

Also had to fill my gas tank. I suppose it had to run out sometime, given all the driving I did :P ($56.70 CAD)

Long weekend conclusion

To conclude… I spent most of my Monday doing laundry. I then washed my car (good gods, I suck at washing my car) and failed to do a good job at cleaning the freakin windshield. Those bug guts just won’t budge :( Everywhere else did! ($5.00 CAD in coins was spent trying to wash the car >.<)

After this failure of a car wash, I went to D. Ngo’s home and essentially sat in her living room reading The Hunger Games. I’m done the first book now btw :P This totally would not have happened if T. Ngo and I were successful in purchasing a kite. It was a perfect day to fly a kite today, but Shoppers Drugmart does not sell kites T-T I did end up picking up some Pepto Bismol tablets ($6.99 CAD + tax = $7.34 CAD)

We ended up going to see Avengers at the new Windermere theatre after their magic playing thing (I had a movie voucher, therefore sunk cost. However, had to pay $3.00 CAD with a giftcard I received for my birthday, as it was 3D -_- Oh wait, double -_-, as I also paid for J. Huang’s 3D costs. Damnit, that means I paid $6.00 CAD). I must say, that theatre really looks fancy compared to the others…

A late dinner was then taken at Montana’s. It was an interesting experience. I doodled on the table with crayon. I ate things I don’t think I would ever order again. I’m still drinking water. That gravy has a LOT of MSG… ($18.89 CAD)
